Houses
Our school now has four new houses — Anchor, Dove, Rainbow and Lighthouse.
This is to increase our sense of school community and to facilitate House Challenges. The Year 6s all prepared a speech as to why they wanted to be voted as the House Captains and were voted in by the children.
In addition, two School Ambassadors, were appointed by staff. These pupils demonstrated exceptional qualities which demonstrated the school’s vision to “let your light shine”.
The House have all chosen a local charity to support through fundraising and volunteering.
There is a special meaning behind each house: each one embodying important values to inspire our students.
Dove House symbolises peace and purpose, encouraging children to soar with calm confidence and care for others.
Rainbow House represents bravery and bright spirits, reminding students of hope after storms.
Olive House stands for peace, growth and new beginnings. It reminds children that doing the right thing makes the world a better place and to lead with kindness and wisdom.
Lighthouse House demonstrates guiding with courage and kindness, shining as a beacon of light and striving to be the best we can.
Together, these houses promote our values in every child – compassion, courage, service and excellence.
Each house has a colour: green (dove), blue (olive), red (rainbow) blue (olive) and yellow (lighthouse).
There is motto and an explanation for what each house symbolises. There is also a simplified bible verse that echoes the values and meaning of each house.
